IPS Cold Storage Products IPS' cold storage panels are used for walls, ceiling and roofs of cooler, freezer and food processing buildings. They also work well for dry goods warehouses, pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities and other temperature-controlled buildings. Our panels can be used for both new and retrofit construction.
Exceptional Insulation
IPS panels use a polyisocyanurate foam HFC-245Fa™. This non-flammable blowing agent allows the foam to have increased thermal properties and a more stable cell structure compared to other blowing agents commonly used in the industry. Additionally, HFC-245fa allows for superior flame and smoke spread ratings. It is also a non-ozone depleting chemical.
The cell structure of the foam is 98 percent closed with a density of 2.2 pounds per cubic feet (minimum). This low density provides increased R-value per inch of insulation. It also inhibits water absorption and allows it to be insect and rodent resistant.

Vapor Barriers
IPS' insulated metal panels are sealed at the side laps and to the substructure at all perimeter boundaries, providing an effective vapor barrier that also meets Continuous Air Barrier (CAB) requirements. This barrier inhibits vapor drive between the interior and exterior of cold storage facilities. By sealing the panels together and to the structure, moisture laden air is unable to pass from the warm side of the wall to the cooler side.

The double tongue-and-groove interlock with hidden clips provides continuous insulation (ci) and eliminates thermal bridges. This interlock, coupled with vapor seal mastic in the mastic grooves, provides superior resistance to air and moisture intrusion, allowing for improved thermal performance of the building. It also allows the sealant to be placed on the warm side regardless of panel orientation.
Quick and Easy Installation
IMPs allow for fast erection times and easy installation, resulting in reduced labor cost and earlier business starts. IPS installation manuals are some of the most detailed in the industry. Details for C&I applications, as well as for cold storage applications, are available in AutoCAD and PDF formats.
Meticulous Testing
All insulated metal panels from IPS undergo meticulous testing and quality control processes to ensure our products comply with code requirements and quality standards pertaining to thermal performance, core density, adhesion and other important factors. IPS provides test data for each panel profile width and thickness combination. This information can be found in IPS' Technical Design Brochure.

Color Offerings
Exterior paint systems can help increase the performance attributes of your building. IPS' two separate paint systems, Signature® 300 and Signature® 200, provide outstanding durability and excellent solar reflectivity performance for both steep and low-slope applications. These coatings offer optimum exterior protection and resistance to chemical corrosion and ultraviolet radiation as well as superior chalk, fade and mar resistance. The standard interior color for IPS panels is USDA white.
- Final color selection should be made from actual color chips.
- Heavier gauges, narrower widths and embossing minimize "oil canning".
- A 25-year limited paint warranty is available for all exterior colors upon written request. For locations outside of the continental U.S. and Canada, please inquire.
- Signature® is a registered trademark of NCI Group, In.; Kynar 500® is a registered trademark of Arkema, Inc.; Hylar 5000® is a registered trademark of Solvay Solexis.
