Product Benefits and Incentives
Using IMPs for your building projects yield many advantages, not only for the building owner, but also for the building designer and erector. Some of these advantages include cost savings, energy savings, time savings and more.

  • IPS panels are strong enough to allow for fewer structural supports, in many cases, than single skin panels due to greater spanning and load bearing capabilities, providing an economical and efficient building envelope.

  • IMPs allow for fast erection times and easy installation, resulting in reduced labor costs and earlier business starts.

  • Metal roof and wall systems require minimal maintenance and can lead to potential cost savings over their lifetime, including energy costs, maintenance costs and more.

  • IMPs qualify as Continuous Air Barriers (CABs).

  • Because of the insulating capabilities of IMPs, less insulation space is needed to comply with building energy efficiency codes compared to fiberglass systems. Buildings using non-rigid insulation such as fiberglass can require up to four times the amount of insulation space compared to insulated metal panels.

  • IMPs by IPS are wind, water, fire, hail, insect and rodent resistant, allowing you comfort that your building will be safe from environmental mishaps.
  • Insulated roof panels from IPS are coated with Cool Roof colors, providing potential energy savings throughout the roof’s lifetime.

  • Our vast selection of applied finishes allows the opportunity to construct a metal building with an exterior resembling conventional construction. In some areas these finishes may allow you to meet local building covenants while still providing a cost effective product to comply with energy and other code requirements.

  • IPS’ Rockwall coating serves as an excellent alternative to masonry or tilt-wall construction while providing construction savings. Such savings include quicker, easier and cheaper installation.

  • IPS’ textured finishes combined with our IMP offering typically perform better than Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS). This product is also known as synthetic stucco. EIFS are commonly applied to storefronts. IMPs allow for easier field installation, have a better R-value per inch than expanded polystyrene, have an incorporated air barrier and are a stronger structural system that is less sensitive to deflection.

  • Mildew resistant and dirt accumulation resistant technology within the textured finishes provides for low maintenance. Moisture cannot penetrate the metal skins of the panel or collect within the panel itself to affect structural integrity. If moisture seeps behind the EIFS layers, it can become trapped leading to rot in wood or other vulnerable materials.

Incentives for Using IMPs*

  • Federal tax credits are available for thermally efficient new construction meeting certain requirements.

  • The commercial building energy tax deduction may be available to the primary designer of state and municipal buildings utilizing energy efficient designs. Consult your tax specialist for more details.

  • Many state and local financing and tax incentives exist for energy efficient construction.
